Got the Itch?

Summer has come and along with it comes family reunions! We went up to Hurricane, UT for the Johnson reunion: here is our journey....
We left Globe at a fairly decent time 1:30 pm perfect nap time right? Well Jeter decided not to take a nap, the whole time, that's over eight hours of baby in a car seat. Shoot me. We stopped in Flagstaff for some Pizza and to remind us why we don't miss it there (bicyclist, Hippies, and some other things) the weather was great though!
Second stop was the bridge. It's such a cool place and to see the history there.
 Looking over the edge.
We got to Kameron's parents house about 10 pm and the next day Caryn, Tina and I went to St. George to do some re-do furniture shopping for myself. It was unsuccesful but I did find one shop that was adorable-Urban Renewal. And since we walked to all the shops and it was blasted hot outside we got some ice cream. And it was A-mazing. This is Mini! MmmMmm!
The next day our little fam went to SandHollow. It's a man made lake that's surrounded by orange sand so it's really pretty. Well as we drove in  there was sign that said "Swimmers Itch" we were like "huh-I wonder what that is?" I do remember saying to Kameron "stop and ask" but once again I was ignored...
We got up very early (it's daylight saving all around the Northern Continent) so we were getting up an hour earlier then usual and going to bed an hour later too...needless to say exhaustion was an issue. So we were at the lake at like 8 AM. It was still fun swimming and Jeter loves the water!!!

So! We get out the water and Kameron is like "I itch!" I figure he is making fun as he always does but the next day.....
Swimmers Itch!!!! I hate, hate, Hate stuff on skin! I felt bad for the poor guy because it really did itch and it looked like he had chicken pox!
After the lake we stopped and got some lunch...so happy! I had to capture the smiles because Poor little Jeter was so sleep deprived he had kind of a hard time staying happy all the time.
We went home and took a nap and then visited the Ewell's. Grandma Ewell always has fun things to do! Like ride a bike!

 And make beanbags into hats...
We left for the Johnson Family Camp out at Grafton on Thursday afternoon.
We slept in the back of our car the first night, but the second night we drove back to the house because Jeter still was avoiding sleep at all costs. And he really isn't a big fan of crowds and there were lots of people there so we all needed to get some sleep. For my sanity.

 On the tractor
On the horse. Now when we see a horse Jeter says "uhh, yeah!" it's so cute!

Cooling off! We also went swimming in the river and the guys played this fun baseball game, forget what's it called and had a family talent show.
 Jeter and Connor

 Jeter and Logan
On the last day we gave Jeter some M&M's. The picture doesn't do justice!
 Relaxing in the shade!
Once we got back from camping we just had to go fishing at the "big house" and do some kayaking. I was exhausted but the friendly dogs made me feel better!
 Paddle boat!

We then went to Grandma Ewell's and Logan serenaded us...

 The little boys...
The Johnson Clan
Once the goodbye's were said we headed out after church. Jeter still wasn't napping and we started getting a little nervous we were in for another Horrible car ride home, Thank goodness after stopping at Jacob's Lake he fell asleep....for THREE and a Half Hours!!!! Hallelujah!
The friendly Chipmunk! Alvin, Simon Theodore ?
Ahh, nothing like a nice, peaceful ride home, I even took an hour nap! We had such a fun time and I am sure I missed a bunch of details, we can't wait to see everyone again in four years, where will life take us until then?!

Five Year Anniversary Getaway!!

We celebrated our five year anniversary and my 24th birthday this month! We got a hotel for two nights in Tempe and dropped Jeter off with some family for the first night. My first night away from my little guy in a year and a half...yikes! A break was much needed but I will admit I teared up a little when I got him back that following afternoon.
My little jeter (FYI doctor check up 32 inches long, 23 pounds, 47 inch head, 20 months old)
Once we dropped Jeter off we went to the temple, then found our hotel and finished the night off with a delicious dinner at Denny's. I know Denny's we are high rollers. It was right there and we were starving! It was surprisingly good too! The next day we had a healthy breakfast of QT toquitos and So be drinks, we are on a tight budget and nothing sounded good until we passed a couple of QT's and decided eh what the heck! Once again surprisingly delicious! We went shopping and kind of just took our time being just us, nothing too exciting but the shopping was successful I might say!
Yummy QT toquitos!
Once Noon rolled around we met up with my sister and we were reunited with Jeter! Oh happy day! I know motherhood can be amazingly demanding, but this little guy is my world and has me wrapped around his finger! We went back to the hotel and went swimming and just kind of hung out. We headed out for dinner and Jeter fell asleep within minutes so I went shopping, again, while we waited for him to get a little power nap. We had a most spectacular meal at Red Robin complete with an ice cream brownie desert I wish I had taken more pictures but once again I was too busy stuffing my face with delicious bacon guacamole burger goodness!
Jeter at the pool! We went swimming three times...this kid loves to swim!!!

Happy 5 years to us! There have been low lows, and high highs, and I can't imagine going through them with anyone but Kameron. He is amazing, putting up with me all the time and being such a wonderful husband and dad. I love you Kam!

DIY pin projects June

I always love the month of June. And this month Pins I loved too. I've been pretty busy with a paint brush these days and here are a few projects that I have been working on:
This is a measurement board the Pin looks like a giant ruler but, I just couldn't get myself to make a million little measuring lines. I grew up with a height board except ours was a wooden door for the ironing board, and we still have it! I love it and I want this to last for years and years! I am loving barn-wood right now my dad does a lot of projects with it and I was helping him build a table and this piece is from that pile at his house. price of this project $0

Next really isn't a pin but it was one of my super projects! I saw a desk at the salvation army for $20 and I went back a few times, thought about it, I am a big thinker when it comes to purchases. Had Kameron look at it and he gave the okay. It needed two new runners for the drawers, a little sanding, knobs and a paint job. So now there is an awesome desk in my carport, probably going to sell it one of these days. I love it though, kind of want to keep it, but I will resist.
 Finished!

my last Pin was these crock pot fajitas... http://www.stacymakescents.com/fix-and-forget-friday-crock-pot-chicken-fajitas Oh my were they yummy! Of course I didn't follow the recipe exactly, I added some actual fajita seasoning along with other spices, but I really think I will never make fajitas the same. Crock pot all the way! (This isn't my picture, it's from this gals blog) I was too busy stuffing my face to remember to take a picture!

Some fun times!

We went to Lake Roosevelt a weekend ago, kind of spontaneous. We had to drop the boat of to get worked on and the guy lives by the lake so we decided to make an overnighter out of it. Fun part was Natalie and Jacob were able to come! So fun! It was a little hot but the water was perfect!
 Oh Jeter :)
Grandma Ginny got Jeter a lawn mower toy that blows bubbles, this kid loves to "mow the lawn" even in the afternoon heat! We are trying to gear him towards push toys rather then scoot toys!
Thanks Nat for all the peanut butter! Jeter had a great time stacking them!
Emily and Trent's amazing reception/celebration was last weekend (more pictures to come) but her awesome friend from California came and spent the week in Thatcher. Katrina and Stephen are so much fun! I hope they can come again soon!
Jeter got a hair cut by auntie em, Thanks!!
Not a great picture, I use my phone now instead of a camera, much more convenient but the picture quality isn't as good. But this is the monster swing in my parents back yard. Fun fun!
Jeter loves putting on his dad's hats, Go BYU!

A trip to the Phx Zoo!

We had a very successful Memorial Day weekend! We went to mesa the Friday and Saturday to spend time with some Johnson fam! We went to the Phx Zoo! I haven't been there in years and it was so much fun and it helped that the weather was perfect! I would have to say the prairie dogs were the most fun!

We had fun at the petting zoo. Jeter wasn't crazy about petting the goats though, he wanted to slide down a bench that had curved sides...hm.

Looking at the baby calfs....so cute when they're little!
The giant tortoises. And I have to document the story, I guess right when we moved on the rest of our group stayed behind and got to see the zoo worker scratch the turtles neck and it raised itself up and stretched out its neck and it was quite a sight! And we missed it, bummer! Funny part was we heard the story three times I think, it must have been A-mazing!
The three little boys (Jeter, Logan and Ryan) all fell asleep at the same time! Ryan is Nikki's (Kameron's cousin) little boy. She and her two kids came down from Utah for the weekend too! Very fun to see them!! Next time I need to take some pictures though, they are adorable little kids! There is a Tiger under the tree...very cool!
Monday came and Kameron worked so he can get an extra day off for our Utah trip the end of June, so that afternoon we went out to the lower salt river, we must have went after the crowd because we were the only ones there! Grilled some hot dogs, went swimming, threw rocks in the water and caught a carp!

Jeter didn't want to touch the fish, I don't blame him carp are gross! And below just a random picture of Jeter in some tires...Jeter has finally discovered climbing. A bittersweet, I don't have to help him off the couch anymore, but now there is more opportunity for falling! What's the saying? "Moms work from Son up to Son down!" Never a truer statement! But we love it!

May Pin Project!

I watch a little girl in our ward sometimes, her name is Victoria and she is a doll! Just this last time she and Jeter would play together and she has started following him around wherever he goes. When he wakes up from his naps and sees her he goes over and stands in front of her and she gets all excited, I even saw Jeter giving her a hug! Precious!

Jeter loves going for walks so we just Had to squeeze into the stroller one day....They lasted longer then I thought, it was so cute!
So for my May DIY Pin Project I decided to take a break from recipes and try something crafty. I've been wanting to try my hand at wreath making for a while and had all the material at hand so this was a $0 project and it turned out soooo cute! You use coffee filters and dye them with whatever color you want. http://lovelycraftyhome.com/2012/01/30/the-coffee-filter-wreath/  this is the link to the tutorial. It really wasnt that hard just a little time consuming. Love it!
Just thought I would throw in this picture of Jeter sleeping on the couch...well half way sleeping on the couch. It's getting hotter and the poor little guy just couldn't fall asleep in his crib (even with fans) maybe he's just being picky...but I let him sleep on the couch and have two fans on him.
Yay for naps!
