Leah Marie Johnson

We got admitted at 5 am on August 7th at St. Joesph's Hospital in Phoenix,. We got all settled and started a very low amount of petocin at about 9 am. I started to feel some menstrual like cramping. I was at 3 cm 50% effaced. They kept upping the amount all afternoon. The range goes from 0-20 It was secretly kind of nice just to lay down and watch a couple of movies.
This is kind of a scary picture but this is real deal people!

Kameron and I took naps a little after twelve and around 3 pm my OB doctor, Dr. Plimpton, came in and broke my water. I was kind of out of it from my nap. I asked if I should start feeling more and he said, "Oh, yes".

About half an hour later I was screaming for my epidural. Literally when he checked me I was 4 cm. Pretty sure I went from a 4 to 7 in 2 hours with no pain relief. Probably the worst pain. Ever. I felt like my insides were on fire. Almost like I wouldn't be able to control myself type feeling. I ended up throwing up a little after 5 pm. They had to give me fluid before the epidural so I scream and suffered through that. I think it took 15-20 minutes and I know they were going as fast as they could. Poor Kameron's hand. The epidural finally happened around 5:30-6pm ish. It was not a great epidural. My right leg didn't seem to get much relief and I could feel all the dull pain between my legs. It wasn't all natural but by golly it was close. At least from my past experiences with epidurals. I felt them do the catheter the whole bit. I could feel a lot of pressure and was afraid the baby was going to pop out!

Her head was right there and I kept telling everyone I needed to push. But we were waiting for some important people. Like the doctor and Emily and my mom. They were shopping. And my mom accidentally turned her phone on silent...good job mom :) So they brought in an attending doctor just in case, although Dr. plimpton would get there on time the attending delivered Leah. Kameron gets a hold of Emily and my mom and they speed over. It was raining so I guess people were driving slow and all cautious. Emily literally runs to our room, haha, Mom gets there just ahead of the doctor.

We quickly set up to have the baby! I'm still feeling all the pressure I think I pushed for a minute maybe 3 pushes. and Viola! No tearing thank goodness since there pretty much was no epidural. Our sweet Leah Marie was born at 7:03pm 5lbs 14 oz. 18'' long. We had to go buy some preemie clothes :) She is a doll. She hardly cried and has been eating so good. She looks a lot like Jeter but has a Brett look as well. A girl mix of the two. We just love our little Leah Marie!!

It was very hard and emotional to not have Brett there with us. Just one of the hard things about the situation. We were so blessed that it would only be about two week being separated. I was only poked and proded for 24 hours I cannot even imagine what Brett went through. It was hard to think of all those things. I really did just try to focus on the miracle of Leah and for the most part I was able to. It is amazing how a mothers heart can be in so many places at once.

 All ready to Go!

She is just the sweetest thing. I love how Kameron loves her. I knew having a girl would be a good idea. Jeter loves, loves, loves her!!! He's such a good brother it is just amazing and so good to see.
Leah is our little piece of Heaven through a difficult time for our family. More evidence of the Savior's love for us and the fact that he is the creator of us and is always watching over us. Just love our little family and so grateful to be an eternal family.

Family Pictures

We took family pictures in September. We loved how they turned out, we had an awesome photographer. It was just so good to document our family at that time and can't wait to keep growing and loving each other!

Halloween 2015! And a bunch of fun!

We have been getting used to being home and just enjoying being back in Thatcher! Picture overload! We also got to enjoy Halloween!!! Being in the hospital during holidays really makes you appreciate such a simple thing as silly traditions. Such as dressing up and asking for candy :)
