Furniture!

I've found my passion in life. And it is furniture. Redoing it that is. I have had some fun projects recently:
This coffee table was a goodwill find! I forgot a before but here is the after! I topped it with a clear wax by Annie Sloan and it was awesome! I have to give a big thanks to Kameron for finding this!

I love doing furniture so much I want to start redoing furniture for people. Really anything that can be painted. This Hutch I did for a lady here in Globe and it's going into her store this week for sale! And I get to advertise in it! She is awesome I am so glad to meet her and will most likely be putting a lot of these pieces in her store!           Before:

After:
We went out this weekend looking for some pieces and I found this little desk. It called to me when I saw it so I had to have it, overlooking the fact that it was made of particle board and wasn't as stable as it seemed. But thanks to my awesome hubby this thing is so sturdy and particle board is the new oak! okay maybe not but this is a diamond in the rough for sure! Also going up for sale in "The Furniture Store" here in Globe!       Before:

After:
the handy support built by Kameron! This thing would be in trash if it weren't for him!

While we were in Utah I had this goal of coming home with something new to work on! The goodwill was unsuccessful but as I went out running the first morning I ran past this chair sitting by a trash can. I was like hmm I wonder if I could fix that? I thought about it alllll day and finally convinced myself and with a little support from Caryn "try it for free"! So I loaded it up and went to work. Once again I have Kameron to thank for helping me out deconstructing this chair it is still in the works...

To the right is the "naked chair" it's a work in progress!

And the other picture is the header footer I picked up!! I'm thinking Bench! I really want to try my hand at it...another work in progress...stay tuned!
I also ran into this desk and thought and thought about getting it. It looked so huge! I was afraid, but I built up the determination and I am glad I was so motivated because it needed new runners, paint, knobs, the whole nine yards, But I love it! I think I've already posted this desk but this is most of my collection thus far of projects. A few signs here and there some tables that have new homes and the dresser already in my bedroom.

Jeter Skeeter

Just some pictures from the past week...
 Rawr!
Jeter took a spill off the wall in our front yard onto a boulder. I can't say rock because it is bigger then that. Poor little guy at a nasty cut and bruise, it's pretty much healed now. Funny thing, he was more mad that Kameron brought him inside after the accident because he thought he was going on a walk...sheesh!
 My little stacker!
We went down for more niece Ava's baptism, sadly I did not take any pictures. It was such a wonderful event because she and her dad have recently been getting back to the whole church thing and he was able to baptize her. It was such a wonderful thing to see!
I also got to visit with my long lost friend Molli! And meet her beautiful little girl Harper! I love this girl she is amazing, she went through so much to have this little one with her. I am so happy for her and hope to see them again soon!!!

Monsoon season! Yay for rain, boo for humidity and swamp coolers!

 Kameron was uh, thirsty....
Jeter INSISTED these were the shoes to wear.
Taking a snooze on mommy, I treasure the times he slows down enough for me to hold him for more then just a quick hug. :)

Got the Itch?

Summer has come and along with it comes family reunions! We went up to Hurricane, UT for the Johnson reunion: here is our journey....
We left Globe at a fairly decent time 1:30 pm perfect nap time right? Well Jeter decided not to take a nap, the whole time, that's over eight hours of baby in a car seat. Shoot me. We stopped in Flagstaff for some Pizza and to remind us why we don't miss it there (bicyclist, Hippies, and some other things) the weather was great though!
Second stop was the bridge. It's such a cool place and to see the history there.
 Looking over the edge.
We got to Kameron's parents house about 10 pm and the next day Caryn, Tina and I went to St. George to do some re-do furniture shopping for myself. It was unsuccesful but I did find one shop that was adorable-Urban Renewal. And since we walked to all the shops and it was blasted hot outside we got some ice cream. And it was A-mazing. This is Mini! MmmMmm!
The next day our little fam went to SandHollow. It's a man made lake that's surrounded by orange sand so it's really pretty. Well as we drove in  there was sign that said "Swimmers Itch" we were like "huh-I wonder what that is?" I do remember saying to Kameron "stop and ask" but once again I was ignored...
We got up very early (it's daylight saving all around the Northern Continent) so we were getting up an hour earlier then usual and going to bed an hour later too...needless to say exhaustion was an issue. So we were at the lake at like 8 AM. It was still fun swimming and Jeter loves the water!!!

So! We get out the water and Kameron is like "I itch!" I figure he is making fun as he always does but the next day.....
Swimmers Itch!!!! I hate, hate, Hate stuff on skin! I felt bad for the poor guy because it really did itch and it looked like he had chicken pox!
After the lake we stopped and got some lunch...so happy! I had to capture the smiles because Poor little Jeter was so sleep deprived he had kind of a hard time staying happy all the time.
We went home and took a nap and then visited the Ewell's. Grandma Ewell always has fun things to do! Like ride a bike!

 And make beanbags into hats...
We left for the Johnson Family Camp out at Grafton on Thursday afternoon.
We slept in the back of our car the first night, but the second night we drove back to the house because Jeter still was avoiding sleep at all costs. And he really isn't a big fan of crowds and there were lots of people there so we all needed to get some sleep. For my sanity.

 On the tractor
On the horse. Now when we see a horse Jeter says "uhh, yeah!" it's so cute!

Cooling off! We also went swimming in the river and the guys played this fun baseball game, forget what's it called and had a family talent show.
 Jeter and Connor

 Jeter and Logan
On the last day we gave Jeter some M&M's. The picture doesn't do justice!
 Relaxing in the shade!
Once we got back from camping we just had to go fishing at the "big house" and do some kayaking. I was exhausted but the friendly dogs made me feel better!
 Paddle boat!

We then went to Grandma Ewell's and Logan serenaded us...

 The little boys...
The Johnson Clan
Once the goodbye's were said we headed out after church. Jeter still wasn't napping and we started getting a little nervous we were in for another Horrible car ride home, Thank goodness after stopping at Jacob's Lake he fell asleep....for THREE and a Half Hours!!!! Hallelujah!
The friendly Chipmunk! Alvin, Simon Theodore ?
Ahh, nothing like a nice, peaceful ride home, I even took an hour nap! We had such a fun time and I am sure I missed a bunch of details, we can't wait to see everyone again in four years, where will life take us until then?!
